WHO WE ARE
The Tennessee Beta Unit of the National Association of Parliamentarians® is a diverse group of women and men who are committed to learning, teaching, and using parliamentary procedure to enable better meetings in the deliberative assemblies we serve. Our organization is built around the study and teaching of Robert's Rules of Order, Newly Revised (12th edition), the most widely used parliamentary authority in use for non-legislative assemblies in the United States. Basic knowledge of and ability to use Robert's Rules of Order is one of the essential building blocks of democratic society.
WHAT WE DO
Monthly Meetings, Education for Certification, Service to Our Community
Tennessee Beta Unit of the National Association of Parliamentarians® meets on the fourth Monday of every month except August and December at the Poplar-White Station branch of the Memphis Public Library at 5:45 PM. (We are currently meeting electronically due to COVID-19.) In these meetings we learn how to serve as leaders in a variety of deliberative assemblies, from church groups, to fraternities and sororities, to condo and home owners associations, to unions and other professional associations.
